When access into an area that’s difficult to reach, such as behind drywall, is a necessary part of your job, gone are the days when it would be necessary to start demolishing that wall (or other obstruction) that is hindering your view. Now you can use the General Tool DCS300 Deluxe Professional Scope to assist you in viewing those small dark spaces in pipes, walls and elsewhere. The DCS300 has 3-foot flexible probe cable with a camera at the end. This probe and camera not only allow you to snake around hard to see spaces, but it also gives users the ability to transmit a live image to a color LCD screen.
The DCS300 is suitable for a range of professional and personal uses. Some uses include home maintenance, electrical repair, plumbing inspections, automotive repair and maintenance, and HVAC inspections. One thing to note is that the DCS300 is not waterproof.
The General Tool DCS300 Inspection Camera Includes:
For starters, the scope camera comes with a large 3.5″ color LCD screen. Whereas some inspection scope cameras have removable screens, the DCS300 screen is not detachable. At the end of the three (3) foot flexible probe cable is where the 12 mm camera can be found.

Advantages of the General Tool DCS300 Inspection Camera
The standard in the industry for an inspection camera head size is 17mm the DSC300 has a camera head measuring 12mm which is a useful feature for getting into smaller areas. The camera itself also has an impressive depth of field in comparison to other models. The DCS300 is competitively priced compared to other scope cameras of this type – even in comparison to smaller screened devices. It’s lightweight and has a standard pistol grip for an easy-to-hold, hassle-free fit in your hand. If you decide to buy extensions, the cables for the DCS300 scope camera are less expensive than its rivals, which is a nice perk.
Disadvantages of the General Tool DCS300 Inspection Camera
In low light conditions, poor image quality on the video screen can be a problem. Also, if you are using the DSC300 in dark areas frequently, LED bounceback could pose a problem. Although the carrying case works well for the camera, there is not enough space for any extra extensions. You will have to use/purchase an additional case for any extensions needed. Being that the camera runs on a 9V battery, which does not appear to last that long – a better option would have been AA batteries or a rechargeable battery.
