Most mitre boxes only allow for cutting mitre joints at specific angles, for example 22.5 degrees, 45 degrees and 90 degrees, but what do you do if your wall corner is not one of these angles?
The magic mitre box enables the user to measure the exact angle of a wall corner and then transfer this angle to the mitre box to ensure a very precise mitred joint.
The individual parts that make up the magic mitre box are shown below.
Template
The magic mitre box has a measuring template which can be removed and allows the user to measure the exact angle of a wall corner.
The template is placed against the corner to be measured and then mounted on the magic mitre box to set the angle to be cut.
Centre console
The centre console of a magic mitre box forms part of the body of the tool. The centre console works in unison with the template to fix the angle of the cut on the workpiece.
Locking nut
Once the angle is set using the template, the centre console is locked into position by turning the locking nut and the template can then be removed. Turn the locking nut clockwise to lock the centre console and anticlockwise to unlock the console.
Saw guide
By inserting your saw into the centre groove of the saw guide you will obtain an exact angled cut that matches the wall that has been measured by the template.
Workpiece clamp
The workpiece clamp holds your workpiece firmly and securely in the magic mitre box, enabling a precise cut to be made.
