Over time, you may find that after tears and cuts may appear in the tarpaulin after use.
These can be repaired using a variety of different methods:
Tarpaulin tape
You can purchase specially designed tape for sealing up tears in the fabric.
The tape will also form a waterproof seal, meaning that no water-resistance is sacrificed.
For the most effective repair, it is advised to repair the tear on both sides of the tarpaulin.
Patches
It is also possible to buy patches to stick over tears, and fabric can be purchased which is suitable for use in fixing tarpaulins.
Heat guns
Also available are heat guns which can be used on PVC tarpaulins to weld repairs in place.
These may be used with rollers, which help maintain pressure on the material as it is welded.
However, many products are not designed to be used with all types of tarpaulin. Therefore, you may wish to ask the manufacturer to advise you on how to repair your product.
