A hollow cabinet scraper has edges of three different shapes: concave at one end, convex at the other, with straight edges on either side. This type of cabinet scraper is used on straight, concave and convex wooden surfaces.
The straight edges of a hollow cabinet scraper can be used on flat surfaces…
…while the concave edge is designed to scrape rounded surfaces, and the convex edge is ideal for use on hollowed surfaces.
These concave and convex edges are uniform, whereas the curves on other types of scrapers such as the gooseneck scraper vary all the way round.
A varying curve like that of a gooseneck scraper allows you to work on a wide range of curves, whereas a uniform curve limits the range of curves you can scrape.
